About the project
Alexia’s family was running out of room in their house, but they all loved the area of Twickenham where they lived. The children’s schools were nearby, as well as their friends and family, so it really was home to them and they could not face the prospect of moving away to a larger property elsewhere.
Instead they decided to stay put and extend their home to create an open living/dining/kitchen room with large glazed doors that open up to the rear garden. The light that now floods the space through the new doors and roof window is amazing and has brightened up the whole of the ground floor.
Alexia also really likes the way that the rear garden is drawn into the house and the feeling of space that you get in the new extension. Now that their home has been altered to suit them, they do not think they will ever move away from the area that they love. Alexia is even considering a loft conversion next, to give them an additional en-suite bedroom!
