About the project
Kim called J Build’s office after finding them online. Although she had a pretty good idea of what she wanted, Kim had no drawings or anything like that having just collected the keys for a terrace house she purchased in Chiswick. Nonetheless, based on Kim’s brief of works, J Build’s surveyor helpfully began to estimate the project costs before drawings were even available, as well as putting her in touch with an Architect, who provided a complete design service. Kim found this extremely useful, as a full time working professional all the additional help that J Build gave her in getting everything together was a real godsend.
When planning was approved and structural details were available, J Build’s surveyor reviewed the plans to make sure all of his pricing assumptions were accurate… which they were… so a contract was drawn up and the build began.
In the kitchen, Kim wanted to leave a steel beam exposed for a slightly industrial feel and the mirrored worktop splashbacks trick the eye and give a feeling of more light and space. The kitchen/diner was warmed up and given a cosy feel with timber floor finishes and a wooden worktop on the island.
J Build suggested that the work would take sixteen weeks to complete, this was important to Kim as she needed to know when she could move in. Exactly to the day the works reached completion and Kim moved in with her family to start enjoying her beautiful new home.
